SKILLS NEEDED BEFORE BEGINNING:

This workshop is geared for an advanced beginner/intermediate spinner. So what does that look like? If you have the following skills you will be ready to take this class:

  • Spin a continuous & relatively consistent single

  • Comfortable with plying 2 bobbins (experience plying 3 or 4 bobbins is a plus)

  • Spinning fine (20+ wraps per inch)

  • Understanding of ratios/spinning speed

  • How to finish your yarn to prepare it for knitting (winding it off, washing it/finishing it, etc.)

  • Familiar with different fiber preparations and tools (commercially prepared combed top, hand carders, flickers, wool combs and diz)

    • Fiber prep isn’t the main focus of this workshop, so you can use commercially prepared top with great success)
