Prerequisite skills needed:

You should be able to spin a continuous yarn and have basic plying knowledge/experience (able to ply a yarn from 2 bobbins)

Materials needed:

Materials used during demonstrations are listed below. If you wish to follow along with exercises you would need the following:

  • Yarn making tool (working spinning wheel, drop spindle, or electric spinner)

  • Spinning wheel oil (if using a wheel or e-spinner to ensure equipment is in good working order)

  • 4-5 empty bobbins with leader

  • Lazy kate (tensioned is preferred)

  • Zip lock bag (sandwich size) or plastic soup container to hold beads

  • Seed beads

  • Nymo or similar fiber thread for beading

  • Combed top fiber for spinning (1 oz).

  • GUM EEZ-thru Floss threads or beading needle.
