Just like there are many ways to spin fiber into singles, there are many ways to ply those singles to create different yarns.
This course starts off with variations on basic plying using 2 bobbins and then builds on that knowledge to explore other plying possibilities for your handspun singles.
Plying techniques covered include
Chain plying. • Cable yarns
Knotted yarns • Beaded yarns
This course was conducted as a LIVE online workshop. The footage was recorded, edited, and is now available for instant and unlimited access.
Format: Lecture, demonstration, and hands on skill building participant exercises
Level: Advanced beginner/Intermediate
Equipment: Drop spindles, spinning wheels and electric spinners are all welcome.

Prerequisite skills needed:
You should be able to spin a continuous yarn and have basic plying knowledge/experience (able to ply a yarn from 2 bobbins)
Materials needed:
Materials used during demonstrations are listed below. If you wish to follow along with exercises you would need the following:
Yarn making tool (working spinning wheel, drop spindle, or electric spinner)
Spinning wheel oil (if using a wheel or e-spinner to ensure equipment is in good working order)
4-5 empty bobbins with leader
Lazy kate (tensioned is preferred)
Zip lock bag (sandwich size) or plastic soup container to hold beads
Seed beads
Nymo or similar fiber thread for beading
Combed top fiber for spinning (1 oz).
GUM EEZ-thru Floss threads or beading needle.
