I’m so excited to be returning to the TWIST Fiber Festival in Saint-André-Avellin, Quebec! This year I will be teaching several workshops:
- Fiber prep: Carding for spinning: This workshop will teach students how to card fiber for spinning. Participants will learn tips and tricks to get the most out of their hand carders plus how to card to match a color precisely using a digital photo!
Spinning for a project: Participants will learn how to plan a project from start to finish so that their projects yield the results they’re after. If you are around come and stop by to see the progress of my duck sweater!
- Novelty Yarns: After spinners get the hang of spinning and plying, experimenting with modifications and add ins to one’s spinning can be a fun challenge! In this workshop participants will learn how to make the following types of yarns:
- Navajo plied
- 12+ ways to approach spinning a painted top: This workshop shows participants different combinations of techniques and approaches to use when working with painted top so that you can achieve very different color outcomes. Participants will start off with 1 painted top and try 12 different ways to spin it for 12 different color outcomes. This workshop is what my book, “A New Spin On Color”, is based on!
If you would like to purchase a book from me in person I will be selling some before workshops start or you can purchase one on Saturday at Cactus Yarn Studio’s booth!
There are still some spots left in the workshops so click on the titles to sign up today!
